A rendered wall can look sharp, but getting there is rarely quick or cheap. There is surface preparation, base coats, drying time, skilled labour, painting and the risk of cracks or inconsistent texture. If you want a specific hand-trowelled texture, a curved surface, a heritage-style finish or a wall colour that changes regularly, render and paint may give you more flexibility. It can also suit projects where a compatible rendered system is already specified and the required trades are on site.
Panels are best for customers who want a defined, pre-finished look and want to reduce the number of steps between bare wall and completed surface. They trade unlimited texture and colour customisation for speed, consistency, insulation and easier installation. For many practical projects, that is a worthwhile trade.
The best wall finish is the one that suits the building, budget and timetable. If rendering is slowing the job down or adding more labour than the project can carry, a pre-finished insulated panel can turn a drawn-out finishing stage into a clean, manageable installation.
